The role of the SAC is consultative and advisory to the Principal and the school on a range of issues and matters that relate to the primary functions of the school.
Some of the ways the School Advisory Council supports the school include:
• articulating and enacting the school’s vision and mission
• promoting the school’s Catholic ethos and culture
• promoting faith formation and development
• supporting school policies as required
• giving advice to the principal on issues such as school improvement plans and enrolment trends
• engaging in discussion with the principal about the annual school budget and other financial matters
• giving advice to the principal about the school master plan
• providing capital resource planning and maintenance support to the principal.
Parent Advisory Council meetings are held each term. The SAC is derived from a variety of members in the community, that applied for a position and have met the MACS criteria. Times and dates appear regularly on the school calendar and in the school newsletter.
